BRHS Virtual Show 2020 Results

Well we have had a great response to our Virtual Show with 135 entries from 40 competitors. Thank you to all who entered and hope it gave you all a chance to show your skills be it growing flowers, fruit and vegetables or your creative skills with cookery, craft and floral art.

The variety of fruit and veg was in abundance this year with a lot of people growing some for the first time. The craft section was bulging with projects completed during lockdown with a lot of new skills acquired over the last few months, and also having time to pick up long forgotten ones.

It has been a difficult few months for all and hope this Virtual Show gave you all another focus for these challenging times. A big thank you to Dave Hughes who has co-ordinated all your entries and don’t they all look brilliant on the BRHS webpage: www.brhs.org.uk/virtual-show

The list of winners is below and you will see some familiar names, but also some new ones. We hope we have inspired some new entrants to continue to compete next year in our Shows.

Section A - Flowers

Section B  - Vegetables

  • B3 – 5 tomatoes of one variety with calyx - Mike Jarvis

  • B4 – plate or dish of one fruit - Mary Andrews

Section H - Cookery

  • H1 – the Great BRHS Bake-off Show Stopper! – a decorated cake to celebrate horticulture -  Rebecca Hannaby

  • H2 –A loaf of bread - Katie Taffinder

  • H3 - 3 decorated biscuits - Denise Abbey

Section J  - Craft

  • J1 – A photograph or painting “My Beautiful Garden” - Esther Parks

Section K Floral Art

  • K1 – VE Day 75th Anniversary – an exhibit to depict this event - Carolyn Bates
